Hymax USA Q&A

Torque-MCQ: Is the use of a torque wrench really that important?

A: Yes! Using a torque wrench is the only way to be certain that the proper recommended torque has been applied to a coupling or clamp.

Hymax goes to great lengths in designing products that are easy to install and also perform under pressure (literally), and the recommended torque on a given product is the result of extensive product testing and field experience.

Additionally, if there is an installation issue, we always ask the installer if they tightened the nuts and bolts to the correct torque rating so we can determine if improper torque was a factor or not.

Torque wrenches should be calibrated periodically to ensure proper readings. Hymax USA sells torque wrenches as well as a complete line of sockets in multiple sizes. Please contact Hymax USA Customer service at lisa.lassiter@HYMAXusa.com or bonnie.screws@HYMAXusa.com for more information.
