COVID-19 Update from our CEO

March 11 marked one year since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic. The crisis forced states, localities and provinces to issue lockdowns and stay at home orders, changing our lives and ways of working. Following CDC guidelines, we took action, implementing COVID-19 measures; expanding safety protocols and sanitation processes to keep employees at our plants safe while at work; and implementing work from home processes to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus. One year later, the impacts of COVID-19 are still being felt across the world, but with the expansion of vaccine supplies and eligibility, along with the gains that have been made from wearing masks, social distancing and hand washing, we can see light at the end of the tunnel.

We are encouraging our employees to get vaccinated to help slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect each other, their families, their co-workers and communities. Our goal is to continue to keep our employees, customers and communities safe. We will continue to follow CDC guidance and require masks and social distancing for all employees and visitors at Mueller locations until further notice.

As I reflect on the past year, I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished as a Company despite this crisis that truly upended the entire world. Frontline employees at our manufacturing facilities continue to show up every day managing through the daily challenges that have come with in-person work during the pandemic. While facing these challenges, our employees managed to successfully make and ship products to customers. Our IT team addressed the large-scale shift required to implement and support remote working, while office employees had to quickly begin navigating new systems needed to continue their daily work from remote locations. The Supply Chain team reacted to disruptions in global supply chains to keep our operations running. Our Sales and Marketing teams adjusted by learning and leveraging new digital technologies to continue engaging with our customers, training over 3,000 customers virtually. We introduced new ways of communicating with employees with the addition of local COVID-19 communications teams at our plants and video messages. These are just a few examples of how our teams rallied to face a situation that many of us never expected to see in our lifetime. When I reflect on how well we all came together professionally as we managed through challenging personal times, I am inspired by the teamwork, dedication and success that we achieved. I would like to thank the Mueller team for their perseverance and commitment. Together, we will get through to the end of this pandemic.
